Common questions
Do I need an account?
Not for your pantry, list, saved recipes, or cooking: they stay on your iPhone. Importing recipes, web search, voice lists, and sharing a household need you to sign in, either with Apple or as a guest. A guest account stays on one phone; Sign in with Apple keeps your kitchen when you switch.
A recipe link won’t import.
Some websites block apps from reading their pages. Copy the recipe text from the page and paste it into Import instead.
How do I share a page from Safari?
Tap Share in Safari and choose Mise. If you don’t see it, tap More at the end of the row of apps and turn Mise on.
How do I share my kitchen with my household?
Open Settings, sign in, and create a household. Share its invite code, and the other person enters it in Settings → Join.
Voice entry isn’t working.
Allow Mise to use the microphone and speech recognition in your iPhone’s Settings → Privacy & Security, and make sure you’re signed in.
Are the use-by dates a food safety guarantee?
No. Suggested dates are reminders only. Check how food looks, smells, and has been stored.
How do I delete my account?
In Mise, open Settings and tap Delete Account. Your account is deleted from our server right away, along with your household and its kitchen if no one else is in it. If you can’t open the app, email hello@dumblemon.com and we’ll do it for you.
Deleting your data
- Remove your kitchen from one iPhone: Settings → Sign Out, or remove the app.
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete Account. We delete your account right away, and your household and its kitchen if no one else is in it, from our server. Other members keep a shared household. If you can’t open the app, email hello@dumblemon.com.
- Backup copies that Convex keeps so our server can recover from a failure expire on their own. We never use them to bring back data you deleted.
Deleting your account in the app removes your data from our server straight away. See the privacy policy for details.
