Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-in, and nothing to set up beyond your city.
Do I have to share my location?
No. Location makes it automatic, but you can type a city in Settings instead.
The times are for the wrong place.
Open Settings and choose “Detect Location”, or turn off “Use Current Location” and type your city.
Which calculation method is used?
The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) method. If your local mosque uses a different method, times can differ by a few minutes.
Reminders aren’t arriving.
Make sure notifications are allowed for Simple Azaan in your phone’s Settings, and that the prayer’s reminder is on in the app. On Android, also allow “Alarms & reminders” for the app, and turn off battery optimization for it if your phone limits background apps.
Do I need an internet connection?
Only to fetch prayer times. The app keeps upcoming times on your phone, so reminders still arrive while you’re offline.
Deleting your data
- Stop sharing your location: turn off “Use Current Location” in the app, or turn off Location for Simple Azaan in your phone’s Settings.
- Delete everything: remove the app. All of its data is removed with it.
There’s no account and we never receive your data, so there’s nothing to delete on our side. See the privacy policy for details.
